What does "your own AI account" mean on the $299 plan?
AI companies sell usage directly through an API account. On this plan the account is yours, so you pay them at cost and we never mark up tokens. Don't want to set that up alone? White-glove setup is included: we create the account together on a call, you type your own card into the provider's site (we never see or touch it), and we handle the clerical work and spending limits from there. Already comfortable with API keys? Paste your own and stay fully self-serve.
What does the AI actually cost me on top of the $299?
Whatever your provider charges for what you use, billed by them, with nothing added by us. For a typical single-location counter that's a modest monthly bill, and we set a spending limit on the account during setup so it can never surprise you. You can see every dollar in your own provider dashboard, which is the point of owning the account.
When will the bundled plan be ready?
It's in development. When it lands, the AI is simply included in your subscription, with a monthly allowance and a usage bar in your settings, and you'll never create a provider account at all. Join the waitlist and we'll tell you the moment it's live. Nothing about your shop has to change when you switch over.
Do you process my card payments?
No, and that's on purpose. Keep the card machine and rates you already have. CarLifeOS records every payment against the invoice and gives you a clean end-of-day, without forcing you onto anyone's processing or taking a cut of your sales.
Is my data locked in?
The opposite. Every week CarLifeOS writes your customers, vehicles, and history to plain spreadsheet files, each one verified after it lands, and you can trigger a fresh export whenever you want. Ask and we hand you the files. Leave any time and take everything with you, including your website's domain and content.
Is there a contract?
No. Month to month, cancel whenever. Annual billing just saves you 10%. The only commitment anywhere is the 24-month term on the optional counter iPad, because that one involves actual hardware.
What hardware do I need?
Any computer with a browser for the shop itself. For the kiosk, any iPad works, or add ours for $39 a month while they're available. Nothing to install, nothing to run in a back room.
How do I switch from what I use now?
We do it with you on a call: your catalog gets set up with your real prices, your repair-order numbering picks up where your old system left off, and your website is built before you go live. Bringing customer and vehicle history across is something we scope with you shop by shop, because every system exports differently. You keep running your old one until the day you don't need it.
